• Örflögur microchips

Spotted: an innovative potatoe chip bag that doesn't make any noise and avoids your hands to grease thanks to its packaging opening into a bowl. Plus they're healthier than most of the brands on the market since they're not fried but dried and seasoned. Finally!

An innovation by Icelandic brand Örflögur. Hey guys, could you please design the same for pop-corn in cinemas? It's a real plague!

Interesting packaging designed by Sydney-based War Design for Australian construction product brand Construction Technologies Australia.

The agency worked on the brand architecture and brand territory to express the new level of professionalism in their client industry. The result is more than convincing, don't you think so? Legible, edgy, modern, the values are clear. Well-done guys!

  • I love Les Carottes Honoré des Prés

I just felt upon the new collection of perfumes recently launched by the young bio-perfume brand Honoré des Prés : "We love New-York", 3 perfumes to celebrate the flavour of the Big Apple.

What is interesting about that brand is that, from A to Z in the process of making a perfume, every step is environment-minded. For their second collection though, I'm questionning the choice of a symbol such as a take-away cup for the packaging of one of their perfumes...even if the cup must be environment-friendly in the fabric and process. Still, remains the environment-killer symbol of the take-away cup!

  • A French military worker has recently launched a petition against overpacking. For a French military worker, a French military organization: a website, a Facebook page, translated in every language of the European Union, an army of representatives in each country, a day against overpacking...A military strategy that results into a success: already 138000 members against overpacking! Final objective is to present the petition to the European Parliament and try to have a law on packaging.

    Good luck!

Yes good luck, since such an initiative leads us to wonder about the rules governing packaging today. To take the same example than that French military worker, why in some countries yoghurts are packed in a 1L bottle, with a unique packaging then and in others, each yoghurt is packed in individual portions and stuck together by a surrounding packaging? Why, oh, why? In France, not because the surrounding packaging is necessary, but just because it enables retailers to put pressure on the consumer and oblige him/her to buy the whole package of yogurts and not the right number you might need!

So, in an area where environment has become a key issue, what are the governments and companies waiting for to rethink the way packaging has been used so far? Maybe the end of lobbying?
