A few days ago, while visiting the very interesting National Museet in Copenhagen and being mesmerized by the Viking artifacts, I was surprised to discover a precise example of a clever branding that dated back to... year 982: the naming of Greenland!
For those not really into Viking history, when Viking Erik the Red discovered that new territory, he called it "Greenland" on purpose. Not because of the lush land, but because he thought a pleasant name would attract settlers in this yet unknown remote area! Centuries afterwards, with a population density of 0,03 hab./km2, we can wonder if business case can be ranked in the most successful ones; still, back then, Greenland reached a population of 5000 inhabitants!
So what's the oldest job in the world now?

Par Vaness dans BUZZ WORDS le 9 Juin 2010 à 14:33Spotted: Oil company BP buying key words on the internet on Google, Yahoo and Bing like "oil spill", "Gulf oil spill" to help them recovering a good image. Searching for such key words on those searching engines lead you to see sponsored links you might be incline to click on and learn more about...how BP is trying hard to resolve the oil spill. A USD 10000 daily strategy that's worth it consider BP has become the it-word on the internet!
However, I've tried all those key words in French and English on Google, Yahoo and Bing and I don't see the sponsored links. Am I a real no-geek?
More about how sponsored links work here.

Par Vaness dans BUZZ WORDS le 28 Mai 2010 à 19:23Préhype: state that comes before the hype state.
That period where all is possible, an avant-gardist very fragile and ephemeral moment. Being préhype is hyper than being hype then! But what about being too préhype and misunderstood? Then you become outdated!
Someone, an English translation?

Iamamiwhoami: name of a mysterious youtube user that is uploading strange videoclips and sending them to key music blogs without any explanations.
Because the sender stays hidden, the clip and music atmospheres are quite disturbing, the quality is very professional and a mysterious black-dressed blond hair women appears in each of those videoclips, Iamamiwhoami has become the most hunted concept, artist, human being of the whole net! Plus, music fans have been speculating on who's this artist: Lady Gaga, Christina Aguillera (best bet apparently), MGMT etc.
Whoever it may be, has already won: his/her name is all around paving the way for a new album, artist, concept to be unveiled soon...
